This footage shows the moment a 19-year-old female driver in a Lada crashed into an electricity pole while overtaking at speed, knocking out power to the surrounding area.

The incident took place in Magnitogorsk, in Chelyabinsk Oblast, in Russia, on Tuesday, 22nd April.

The footage, filmed on the dashcams of other vehicles, shows the Lada Granta overtaking other vehicles at speed before one of the cars makes to turn in front of it.

The Lada driver does not slow down and instead veers to the left in an attempt to avoid the car but she reportedly collided with it, with the footage showing the vehicle shooting into a pole which collapses on the road.

A cloud of dust rises into the air as other motorists manoeuvre around the pole.

The footage then cuts to the emergency services on the scene, with the Lada seen on its side.

Local media reports said that the 19-year-old female driver was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating the crash.
