An on-the-run guru who tried to have sex with 1,000 virgins to reach a higher evolutionary state has been arrested in Paris and is awaiting trial, accused of kidnap, trafficking and rape.
An international arrest warrant was issued after he fled his Romanian home country in 2004 when he was indicted for having sex with an underage girl.

Gregorian Bivolaru, 67, had been sentenced to six years in prison in 2013 by a Romanian court but he was already on the run. He was the founder of a yoga organisation called the Movement for Spiritual Integration in Absolute (MISA) that was set up in the 1990s.

The yoga school gathered thousands of members and was involved in a huge scandal when it became public that it encouraged pornography, group sex, orgies and bizarre urine rituals.
Bivolaru also reportedly enjoyed having sex with virgin girls and promised them tantric illumination in exchange for sex. One of those was the then 17-year-old Madalina Dumitru.
Throughout the court proceedings however, she complained of being used to prosecute him and alleged that she had been put under pressure to testify against him.
Another important witness in the case was Agnes Arabela Marques. She currently lives in Portugal but had a relationship with the guru when she was 15.

She said: "Bivolaru claimed that, if I had sex with him as a yoga master, I could achieve superior levels of tantric spirituality. In his apartment, there were constantly girls that were there to have sex with Bivolaru. With this in mind, on January 12, 2000, when I was 15, I had sex with him.
"His apartment had four rooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen. I know at some point there were 12 girls there that had sex with Gregorian Bivolaru. The girls living in that apartment would spend a few days or even a few weeks there and afterwards their place would be taken by other girls. This way Bivolaru wanted to ensure the so-called "avalanche state". In order to keep sexual desire alive, he said it was not good to live with your partner for too long.
"Gregorian Bivolaru was interested in an Indian myth that said you could get to a high spiritual level if you had sex with 1,000 virgin girls. He knew the age of each girl he had sex with because he received photos from his yoga students and the date of birth was written on the back."

Agnes Arabela Marques married a Portuguese man and is currently a singer and model there.
Bivolaru had been indicted for sex with an underage girl in 2004. He was arrested in Sweden, but later the country granted him political asylum and he took the name of Magnus Aurolsson.

The so-called guru had started practising yoga at the age of 17 and one of the things that MISA became famous for were yoga spirals, where devotees would gather together and hold hands in order depending on their zodiac signs in order to meditate.
Gregorian Bivolaru is currently under arrest in France.
